Travel & Accommodations

September is a beautiful but busy time in Austin. For your convenience, we have secured a block of rooms at the brand new JW Marriott for $299 per night. Located on Congress Avenue and Second Street in the heart of downtown, you’ll be able to walk to some of our favorite restaurants, Sixth Street, the State Capitol and Lady Bird Lake. It also features a rooftop pool, so don’t forget to bring your bathing suit! We will provide a shuttle from the hotel to the venue for Saturday’s festivities.

You can also call 512-474-4777 and reference the Neumann-Kilgore wedding block.

Aug. 31 Update: There are now five rooms available in the block for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please make your reservation as soon as possible if you’d like to stay at the JW!

We were able to avoid all the major music festivals and F1 races, but the Longhorns will be playing a home football game on Saturday, so rooms at other downtown hotels are already extremely limited. If you’d prefer to stay somewhere besides the JW Marriott, we recommend considering hotels near the Domain, a vibrant mixed-use area 20 minutes north of downtown and 15 minutes from the venue. The Aloft, Westin and Lone Star Court are all good options. You can also find great deals on rooms, apartments, houses and occasionally teepees with Airbnb. And if you want to try something different, check out the Heywood, a new boutique hotel on the thriving East Side.

If you’ll be flying to Austin, we recommend booking early for fall travel. In addition to the major airlines, Southwest and JetBlue also provide service to AUS. The airport is conveniently located less than 10 miles from downtown. Unfortunately public transportation is mediocre at best, but Ubers, Lyfts, taxis and pedicabs abound. If you’re staying downtown, you can definitely get by without rental car. If you’ll be outside of downtown or plan to explore for a few days, you’ll have more flexibility if you do rent one. While the JW Marriott only offers valet for $30 per day, there is a public parking garage for the Convention Center right around the corner at 201 East 2nd Street.
